Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 2026
This Affiliate Disclosure describes the commercial relationships at ASK.ME Games. The summary: the Site is primarily ad-supported via Adsterra, not affiliate-supported. Affiliate relationships, where they exist, are disclosed in context. The Disclosure is published in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s “Endorsement Guides” (16 CFR Part 255), the EU consumer-protection framework (Directive 2005/29/EC), and the Italian Codice del Consumo.
1. The summary
ASK.ME Games is funded primarily through display advertising delivered by Adsterra. The Site is not an affiliate-marketing site by design. A games-aggregator site does not have a natural affiliate-marketing business model the way a product-review site does โ the games are free, there’s no commerce taking place between visitor and game.
That said, limited affiliate relationships may apply in specific contexts:
- Cross-promotional links to other games sites in our partner network โ where applicable, these may include referral arrangements.
- Developer-toolchain referrals โ if we recommend HTML5 game development tools to indie developers visiting the Site, those recommendations may include affiliate links to the toolchain providers.
- Browser / device recommendations โ rare, but if we ever publish content recommending specific browsers, devices, or VPNs for gameplay, affiliate relationships may apply.
2. Where affiliate links appear, they are disclosed
Where an affiliate relationship affects content on a specific page:
- Inline disclosure in the relevant content, identifying which products / providers the affiliate relationship applies to.
- No hidden affiliations. If a product is referenced without inline disclosure, ASK.ME does not have an affiliate relationship with that product.
3. Editorial wall
Affiliate revenue, where it exists, does not influence editorial content:
- Negative observations about affiliate-relationship products are not soft-pedaled.
- Comparison content (rare on a games site) evaluates against documented criteria applied consistently.
- Articles on topics related to affiliate-relationship products are not commissioned, timed, or framed at the affiliate’s request.
- If continuing an affiliate relationship would require softening editorial coverage, the relationship is ended.
4. What you should know as a visitor
- Most links on the Site are non-affiliate (links to game catalog pages, internal navigation, links to developer pages, links to authoritative external resources).
- An affiliate-link click that results in a commission to ASK.ME does not change the price or terms you receive from the third-party provider.
- Where you click an affiliate link, the third-party affiliate program may set a tracking cookie. The cookie is set by the affiliate’s tracking infrastructure; the affiliate’s privacy policy applies. See our Cookie Policy.
5. What we do not do
- We do not write articles “for” an affiliate as paid promotion disguised as editorial.
- We do not accept “minimum review score” requirements in exchange for commission.
- We do not accept payment to remove negative content.
- We do not promote products through affiliate channels that we would not promote editorially.
- We do not run “sponsored” articles where an affiliate has paid for placement disguised as editorial coverage.
6. FTC framework note (U.S. visitors)
U.S. visitors: this Disclosure is the “clear and conspicuous” disclosure required by 16 CFR Part 255. Where a specific page references a product with an affiliate relationship, the inline disclosure on that page is also intended to satisfy the proximity and prominence requirements.
7. Updates
This Disclosure is updated as affiliate relationships are added, changed, or ended. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent revision.
